From Humble Beginnings
to Excellence
Elgon College began with a dream, a plot of land and 62 students. Today it is one of Eldoret's most respected secondary institutions — and our story is still being written.
Founded by Mr. Joseph Rotich
Opened with 62 Form 1 students, 8 teachers and 4 classrooms on Elgon View Road.
First KCSE Class Graduates
Our pioneer Form 4 class achieves a mean score of 7.8 — placing us among the top county schools immediately.
Science & Computer Labs Opened
Fully equipped physics, chemistry, biology and computer labs constructed — doubling our science enrolment.
Full Boarding Status Granted
Ministry of Education grants Elgon College full boarding status — opening doors to students across Kenya.
Best School — Uasin Gishu County
Awarded best secondary school in Uasin Gishu with a historic mean score of 9.4 and 98% university transition.
